Quality Standards & Compliance Requirements
Acceptance criteria define the minimum standards that concrete must meet to be considered compliant with specifications. These criteria are based on IS 456:2000 and ensure structural safety and durability.
Minimum strength below which only 5% of results may fall
Mean strength and standard deviation analysis
Specific limits for individual and group test results
When test results of 4 or more consecutive samples are available, concrete is deemed acceptable if BOTH conditions are satisfied:
Mean strength ≥ fck + 0.825 × σ
Where σ = Standard DeviationIndividual strength ≥ fck - 3 MPa
For fck < 20 MPa: ≥ 0.85 fckWhen less than 4 consecutive samples are available, each sample must satisfy:
Individual strength ≥ fck + 4 MPa
For fck < 20 MPa: ≥ fck + 0.825 × σ| Grade | fck (MPa) | Min Required (MPa) |
